Best Teams in Europe for Goals Betting
The 2026/27 elite European football is well underway, and already, the continent's big boys are staking their claim. In England, Arsenal and Manchester City have assumed their regular spot atop the Premier League, while over in Spain, Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking as imperious as ever. Germany and France are once again being held hostage by Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, while Italy looks poised for the widest open Scudetto race in years as Inter looks to fend off the challenges of Roma, Como, AC Milan, and Juventus.
These days, there are hundreds of markets to bet on when it comes to any given football game, but one of the most popular remains under/over goals betting. So, which teams have been racking up the goals so far this term and proven reliable thus far when backing the over? Here are the teams you should be keeping an eye on this term.
Barcelona
No team has been more exciting to watch so far this season than reigning Spanish champions Barcelona. The Blaugrana have been absolutely electric in La Liga, racking up a whopping 28 goals across their first four games at a rate of 4.33 per game. Not only that, but they have also conceded six goals this season, with both teams scoring in exactly 50% of their games.
Captain Raphinha has been the star of the show. He has bagged nine goals already this term, including a stunning hat-trick in the recent 7-2 drubbing of Racing Santander at the Camp Nou, a game in which the Brazilian also missed a penalty. His reliable partner in crime, Lamine Yamal, has also helped himself to six goals, while new attacking additions Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, and Gabriel Jesus have all been on the scoresheet.
It's a similar story in the Champions League as well. There were no fewer than five goals in Barca's sole continental game so far this season, a 4-1 demolition of Dutch outfit Feyenoord in Catalonia. The tie continued the trend of the Catalonians helping themselves to around four goals in a game, as well as both teams scoring.
Such has been the goal output of Hansi Flick's men this season that online betting sites have responded swiftly. One looking to place sports bets online will have to get used to the fact that the regular line when betting on Barca games is now 3.5, as opposed to the regular 2.5, with the "over" selection usually favored at odds of 1.80 or lower. Still, the Blaugrana have cleared that number in all but one of their seven games this season, and the trend looks likely to continue throughout the rest of the campaign.
Bayern Munich
German giants Bayern Munich are another team that's regularly in the goals. Last season, they amassed a mighty 122 in just 34 games at an average of 3.59 per game. Many of them were smashed in by Ballon d'Or favorite Harry Kane. The England captain scored 73 goals in all competitions for club and country last season, the second most by anybody since the turn of the millennium, only bettered by Lionel Messi's 82 back in 2011/12.
Both the prolific Three Lions skipper and Bayern themselves have once again been goal-hungry this season. The Bavarians have netted 14 goals in just four games, 12 of them coming in the thumping wins against Stuttgart and Union Berlin, which finished 5-1 and 7-0, respectively. Kane has netted three of them, while scintillating winger Michael Olise has four of them.
The Champions League also saw Bayern at their devastating best. They were goalless with Norwegian underdogs Bodø/Glimt at half-time in their opening game, but in the second half, the Rekordmeister flexed their muscles. Goals from Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Kane, and Olise (two) sealed a dominant 5-0 win, marking the third time already this season that Vincent Kompany's side had won by four goals or more.
There is one blemish on the record though. A goalless draw away at Schalke certainly stung over bettors, and it should be taken as a word of caution. At home, Bayern's goals flow freely, but on the road, they have been known to dry up somewhat.
Inter Milan
Reigning Italian champions Inter Milan have seen plenty of goals at both ends of the pitch so far this term. For so long, Serie A was the league of resolute defenses, but it seems as though the Nerazzurri are bucking that trend this season.
No fewer than 23 goals have been scored across their opening five Serie A games this term, at an average of 4.6 per game. Not only that, but both teams have scored in five of Inter's six games this term, including the 2-1 defeat away at Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The recent 2-2 draw away at Roma saw the goal-fest trend continue, with Lautaro Martinez's second-half brace securing the champions a point at the Stadio Olimpico. Inter have also picked up 5-3, 3-2, and 4-1 wins so far this season.
Another trend that's following Inter is their ability to pull off comebacks. They have trailed by two goals in three of their last four Serie A games. In two of them, they have managed to come back and win, while in the other, they secured a 2-2 draw away at Roma. For the braver punter, backing them to win or draw when they trail could well yield positive returns this season.
